If your device is not working properly, follow the instructions below to fully reflash your device using the USB-USB method. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For routine upgrades of the DSDX5 firmware, please use the OTA zip file<\/a> method. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need a wooden or plastic stick that will easily fit inside the AV port on the rear of the DSDX5. A matchstick, cocktail stick or toothpick is ideal. Do not use anything metal or anything conductive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need a USB mouse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need to download the USB Burning Tool, DSDX5 Android Firmware and DSDX5 SHA256 Firmware Hash linked below: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DSDX5 Firmware and Hash currently unavailable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the image has been downloaded please check the image hash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mains power adapter should be connected to a power source, but not plugged into the DSDX5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Install USB Burning Tool<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On your Windows 10\/11 computer, extract the USB Burning Tool zip file<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Run USB Burning Tool<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the USB Burning Tool has been extracted, change to the unzipped directory and run Aml_Burn_Tool.exe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next from the top File menu, choose settings, load image. <\/p>\n\n\n

Select the img file you downloaded earlier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a short time, the import will complete and you\u2019ll see the firmware loaded at the bottom of the screen: <\/p>\n\n\n

Next ensure that the Configuration section to the top right looks like this: <\/p>\n\n\n

Ensure Erase flash mode is set to Normal Erase as shown above. Under no circumstances use any other mode.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connect DSDX5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensure that the DSDX5 is turned off and that the power adapter is disconnected from the power port on the rear of the DSDX5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put your matchstick or similar into the AV port on the rear of the DSDX5 and press gently. You should feel a tactile \u201cclick\u201d as you depress the reset button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep the reset button pressed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plug one end of the USB A-A cable into the rear-most USB port of the DSDX5 and the other into a spare USB port on your Windows 10\/11 computer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connect the power adapter to the DSDX5 and release the reset button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should see a new device appear in the USB Burning Tool. <\/p>\n\n\n

If it doesn\u2019t appear, remove the power and USB cables, reconnect the USB and then try the process of pressing the reset button and connecting power again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you have the device connected, click on the Start button at the top right of the USB Burning Tool. Immediately the device will start to be upgraded. <\/p>\n\n\n

Allow the process to complete. When it has completed, you\u2019ll see the following: <\/p>\n\n\n

Allow 5-10 seconds for any transfers that are in progress to complete, and then remove the USB cable from the DSDX5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re doing multiple DSDX5s, you can connect the next one at this point and it will automatically upgrade as soon as it is connected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you\u2019ve finished upgrading devices, ensure the USB and power cables are disconnected from the DSDX5 and then click the Stop button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
