We’ve launched DSDevices Edge AI Service, a free downloadable computer vision application for DSDA1 and DSDX5.
The thinking behind it is simple: computer vision should be easier to add to a digital signage or connected-device deployment without needing a separate AI appliance, a new software platform or additional software licence costs.
Using a standard USB camera or RTSP-enabled IP camera, the service runs locally on the DSDevices player and makes detection data available through a REST API for integration with CMS platforms and third-party applications.
The current release includes Facial Demographic Classification and Real-Time Object Tracking across 80 COCO object classes, giving partners and developers a practical computer vision solution they can start using today.
For us, this is about making computer vision more accessible within the DSDevices ecosystem and giving CMS providers, integrators and developers another way to build value around our hardware.
